Message from North Frontenac Mayor Higgins
Based on the re-opening strategy from the Province, they are allowing free movement within the Province, although they stress stay local, limit travel and practice all the safety protocols required. My message to those who would like to go to the cottage is; yes you may go the cottage but try to stay on the cottage property as much as possible. The same message goes for all residents. There is no need to isolate or quarantine as we are well educated on distancing, washing masks etc. There is also no need to bring enough provisions for your stay as we welcome those who want to shop and we promote shop local to avoid travel to other areas as much as possible.
This is a change from previous messaging based on how well we have cooperated over the last 2 months or so. I also ask that you check the Township site regularly to stay up to date on the progression and guidelines as they do change weekly. The reference sheet on this page is the one that changes weekly plus we have news, press releases and links to other sites related to COVID.
April 8, 2020 – KFL&A Public Health – Reduced Hours for COVID-19 Assessment Centre: For immediate release . Wednesday, April 8, 2020. Reduced Hours for COVID-19 Assessment Centre
I want to thank everyone for your cooperation since March, it has made a huge positive impact and I for one appreciate your patience and hope you enjoy your cottaging over the summer. Although we are now allowed to have up to 10 people in a social environment I would ask that you limit your visitors as much as possible. I would also ask that if you have any symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has contracted the virus that you get tested and have an all clear before coming to North Frontenac.
May your summer be great!
